The Pokémon Company has released brand new trailer for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon and it shows off some of the changes being made to trainers’ Alola experience.
This new trailer confirms a new ride Pokémon, changes to the Island Challenges and how many Pokémon will appear in the Alola Region in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. But before we dive in, take a look at the new clip.
NEW AND DIFFERENT ISLAND CHALLENGES
Island Challenges will work a bit differently in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon .
In the Grass Island Challenge, Sudowoodo appear in the forest and you need to interact with them. But no worries, the Lurantis Totem Pokémon will still be your final challenge in that area. The trailer shows a Togedamaru interacting with some Charjabugs during the Electric Island Challenge and a brief glimpse at a Vikavolt that has metal all over it.
We see Acerola in a brief clip screaming to “get out,” which means the Ghost-type Island Challenge will return as well.
The largest change to the Island Challenges is the first Fairy-type Challenge by Mina, the trainer who you came across towards the end of Sun and Moon .
LILLIE AND HAU
The next section of the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon trailer shows Lillie and Hau as your friends during your Alola adventure. However, we suspect their roles in the story will change from Sun and Moon because of Lillie’s change in attire from the first games and the nature of Ultra Sun and Moon.
MORE POKEMON
The biggest piece of news to come from the latest trailer is that more than 400 Pokémon appear in the Alola Region in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon . Some of the Pokémon shown that weren’t in the other games were Tropius, Larvesta, Mareep, Larvitar and Zorua. The Houndoom line will be exclusive to Ultra Sun while the Manectric line will be exclusive to Ultra Moon.
PHOTO CLUB
The new game mode, Photo Club, allows trainers to take pictures with their Pokémon and pose with their companion in various ways. Images can be decorated with stickers, backgrounds, frames and more.
MANTINE SURF
The new Ride Pokémon in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is Mantine Surf, which allows trainers to shred some waves atop of the Water Pokémon. This is likely how trainers will travel between the Islands of Alola. You’ll even be able to perform various moves while gliding in the air to earn points.
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will release Nov. 17.
