There’s a lot to digest from the code provided, but FireBug160 on the Shiny Pokémon subreddit posted a nice and easy chart for trainers to refer to. According to the chart, trainers always have at least a one percent chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon regardless of the type of ring they fall into.
However, the odds of a shiny increases the further out you travel. The further the lightyears, the chance of a shiny increases by one percent for every 500 light years.
The type of Wormhole also determines the shiny chances. Depending on whether you fall into a one, two or three-ring Wormhole, your shiny chances can increase even more. This is especially the case with three-ring Wormholes, which increase by four percent after every 500 light years.
It should also be noted that after 5000 light years, the chances don’t increase. Check out the shiny odds chart below.
The Wormholes found in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon give trainers not only access to some Pokémon that aren’t catchable in the Alola Region, but pretty much every Legendary Pokémon that has been released. Many trainers have also found out that hopping on Solgaleo or Lunala and going through Wormholes have been a great source for Shiny Pokémon.
