After much speculation, Masaan has finally been banned from twitch. The popular streamer has had a long history of scandals, including sniping streams at tournaments and most recently, view botting. There has been no official statement from Masaan yet and Twitch does not comment on individual ban cases. Twitch has yet to announce an official reason for the ban. . It could be something as mundane as inappropriate chat spamming, or him saying something dumb on camera.
The Hearthstone community has been screaming about Masaan’s view botting ever since the popular streamer Reckful mentioned it on his channel two months ago. Reckful tried to prove Masaan view botted multiple times, even going as far as to offer to show his own stream numbers to provoke Masaan to do the same. Reckful also points out that Masaan’s chat is oddly quite quiet, especially for having upwards of seven thousand viewers. Even channels with two thousand and below have constant chatter, while Masaan’s Twitch chat stays nearly silent.
At one point, Reckful even showed charts of how a regular stream starts off with a few viewers and gradually builds up over time. In contrast, Masaan’s stream would jump to seven thousand viewers immediately on start. No concrete proof of Masaan view botting has been revealed, though many YouTubers have searched his viewer list and found multiple fake accounts. Masaan left Team Solo Mid in May of last year and currently plays for Cloud 9.
Masaan has said he knows nothing about the bots, and “will contact Twitch” about it.
