Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid is primed for its April debut, and developer nWay has decided to pique our excitement even more with their latest gameplay reveal. In the video below, we can see that Battle For The Grid puts a lot of emphasis into team composition, as teammates and their abilities seem to play a major part in every battle.
The gameplay trailery highlights the many characters of the Power Rangers franchise going toe-to-toe in deadly combat. Everything’s pretty standard until allies start showing up to cause devastation and destruction with ferocious effects. Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid is a 3v3 fighting game that locks two teams of three fighters each in combat until one, or maybe all, of the fighters fall. While it’s definitely not the first fighting game ever to do three-vs-three combat, what we’re seeing so far is just the right amount of team-oriented innovation. By allowing players to use their allies fluidly, and it seems, quite often, the game because more of a team-battle than the traditional 1v3 pub-stomper asking “whose next?”. Of course, we won’t know for absolute sure until the game comes out this Spring, but we’re excited to find out.
Power Ranger is a really old franchise, and some of us here at Player. One have been around since America first adapted the Japanese Super Sentai into the Power Rangers as we know them today. Fans of the franchise especially, are looking forward to this potential breakaway hit.
