Power Rangers fan have reason to celebrate as nWay has officially released some free downloadable content for its Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. Similar to other DLC, this new content offers players new characters and game modes.
The DLC is already available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Users of the Nintendo Switch may have to wait as there is an issue with the update on this platform.
The new DLC offers a Story Mode which has a new storyline that is written and voice directed by none other than writer/director Kyle Higgins. Higgins is known for stories that include Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Shattered Grid, Nightwing, and Batman: Gates of Gotham. In addition, the Story Mode also features original artwork done by Eisner Award-winner Dan Mora, whose works include Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Go Go Power Rangers.
With the Story Mode, players get to experience the highly acclaimed Shattered Grid event of the Power Rangers comic book series. The story focuses on Lord Drakkon, an evil alternate version of Tommy Oliver, as he sets off a campaign to get rid of all Power Rangers across all space and time. The Power Rangers must band together and fight back before everything is destroyed by Lord Drakkon.
To heighten the excitement even further, the story and combat voiceovers are all done by the original Power Rangers cast. These include Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver), Austin St. John (Jason Lee Scott), David J. Fielding (Zordon), Kerrigan Mahan (Goldar) and Meghan “Strawburry17” Camarena (Kimberly).
The DLC introduces three new characters for Battle for the Grid:
