A new update is arriving in PUBG: Battlegrounds which is going to officially launch the new Ranked Season. This same update will also increase healing items in both Erangel and Miramar. Update 18.1 is heading to PC on June 8 and to consoles on June 16.
With just a few days left before the update comes out, Ranked Season 17 is in the home stretch. Since Season 18 means that new rewards are coming, players need to remember to grab their rewards for Season 17.
There’s no question that a new Ranked Season is an exciting time for players. However, it comes with some sad news. When Season 18 officially goes live, Squad – FPP won’t be available anymore on Console Ranked for North America and Europe. This is mainly due to the lack of players in the queue.
Item Spawn Balancing
In a statement, the Krafton team revealed that they have been receiving feedback that in Normal Matches, healing items are difficult to find in Erangel and Miramar. It seems that the spawn rate of heal items went down because of the increase in the spawn rate of weapons and attachments.
The team did share that for Normal Matches in Miramar, the heal item spawn rate didn't really decrease. What happened was that the gameplay dynamics changed aggressively because of the higher chances of finding more weapons and attachments, which resulted in the higher demand for heal items. Because of this, the total amount of items and spawn rates are increased in Update 18.1.
Return to TDM
Fans of Sanhok should be happy to know that the map makes a return to the rotation for TDM. The map selection ratios and locations are now:
- Map Selection Ratios
- Taego: 40%
- Sanhok: 20%
- Erangel: 16%
- Vikendi: 16%
- Miramar: 8%
- Maps
