A new update for PUBG just dropped, and it is massive. Update 13.2 adds new weapons: the P90 SMG and the Blue Zone Grenade. It also introduces a new trunk system that can be accessed in the Taego map.
New Weapons
There are two new weapons up for grabs that you can use to your advantage. The first is the P90, which is a fan-favorite SMG dropped via Care Packages.
It will spawn on all maps and comes with some attachments, including the Silencer, Laser, and a low-profile sight with magnification. It is also equipped with a 50-round magazine, with an additional 250 rounds when taken from the Care Package. The P90 has an effective range of between 200 and 300 meters and a fire rate of 1,000 rounds per minute. This makes it quite potent to use against your enemies.
Aside from the SMG, there is also a new throwable item called the Blue Zone Grenade. Unlike high-explosive grenades, this particular grenade deals continuous damage for up to 10 seconds. The grenade will emit a blue area that remains at full size for the first five seconds. It will gradually shrink down until it disappears for another five seconds. During the entire duration, anyone caught in the area will suffer 10 damage per second.
New Feature: Trunk System
There is a new vehicle called the Porter, which is exclusive to the Taego map. It drives well on all terrains and can carry up to four passengers at a time. The new trunk system allows you to load various items in the trunk of the Porter and you can take them out at any time.
There are a few things to take note of here. The first is the trunk has a weight limit of 400, so you and your team may not be able to store all your equipment in the vehicle. Second, in the event that the pickup truck gets destroyed, all items stored in it will also be destroyed in the process.
New Mode: Casual Mode
If you are new to battle royale and would like to have a feel of the game, then the new casual mode will surely appeal to you. It is a less intense environment that allows you to hone your skills and have some fun.
At the moment, the casual mode only takes place on Erangel and will have a maximum of 12 human players, with AI bots filling up the remaining spaces. Take note that you can only play up to three matches per day - either in Solo, Duo, or Squads.
Update 13.2 still has plenty to offer. If you want to learn more, you can head over to the game's official Steam Page.
PUBG is available on PS4, Xbox One, Android, iOS, and PC.
