The PUBG test servers have received Update 15.1 and it features the Mountain Bike - a foldable, silent vehicle usable in normal matches. The update also contains weapon balancing changes, and the map rotation for Season 15.
Mountain Bike
Have you been clamoring for an efficient and stealthy way to traverse bigger maps in PUBG ? Well, your wish has been granted as Update 15.1 introduces the Mountain Bike.
This is a foldable vehicle you can find mostly on the outskirts of the map. It has a maximum speed of 50 km/h without sprinting and a top speed of 62 km/h with sprint tapping. The latter can be achieved by tapping the “Move Forward” key repeatedly.
The best things about this vehicle are being indestructible, barely noticeable due to less noise, and doesn’t require fuel to operate. It does, however, require four seconds to set up. But once it’s ready to go, you can travel more quietly than any other vehicle in the game.
Keep in mind that the Mountain Bike is only available in normal matches and does not spawn in esports modes.
Map Rotation Changes
The devs have disclosed the map rotation changes in Season 15 as part of their Map Service Plan.
For normal matches, the map rotation would be Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Taego, and Vikendi. For Ranked, the game will cycle through Erangel, Miramar, and Taego.
Taego remains one of the most popular maps, according to player feedback and data. So, it is only right to include it in the rotation for normal matches and Ranked plays.
Haven, the smallest map in PUBG, is not part of the rotation as it may cause stability issues.
Weapon Balancing
The developers said that the P90 is performing better than auto rifles. That is why they’re implementing some nerfs to the said weapon. Its vertical and horizontal recoil is increased and its ADS deviation is raised during full-auto bursts. Furthermore, they’ve lowered the Care Package ammo to just 200 bullets.
Shotguns are generally not used often. To make them more enticing, their damage drop-off range has been increased, improving their effective range slightly. The Sawed-Off pellet spread is decreased and Sawed-Off damage is increased by one.
Aside from shotguns, LMGs are not seen as effective armaments based on data. So, their recoil when shooting in crouched or standing positions is reduced and their Body Damage Multiplier is increased to 1.05. These changes are intended to make LMGs a bit more appealing to use in this update.
