PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds releases on Xbox One tonight (or tomorrow morning depending on where you live)! That’s huge, but when will you actually be able to download the one-versus-all shooter? Microsoft has the exact times.
As found on the Major Nelson website, the release schedule for PUBG has been broken down by country, with the release time listed both in Pacific Time and Coordinated Universal Time. If you happen to live on the West Coast, get ready to go starting at 9 p.m. Sadly, East Coast fans will have to stay up until midnight to see if we can win our first Xbox One chicken dinner. The full schedule is as follows:
The Major Nelson site also reminds gamers PUBG is still in the Xbox Game Preview program, Xbox One’s version of Early Access. This means there are no pre-orders available through Xbox Live, since Microsoft does not allow for pre-sales of Preview games. If you really want to pre-order a digital game, sites like GameStop are offering deals to pre-order, including a free $5 gift card. If you’re just getting a code for a digital game, might as well get something else out of it too, right?
If you are itching to spend some extra money, Xbox has some PUBG DLC already available. The limited-edition cosmetic packs will be the only add-on content available while PUBG is in the Preview program, since no microtransactions will be present until launch, and will only be available for a short time each.
Three have been announced, and none are for sale right now. The Warrior Pack (which included a balaclava hat, camo t-shirt, pants and tennis shoes) was available from Dec. 7-10, the Accessory Pack will be on sale from Dec. 14-17 and the Tracksuit Pack will be live from Dec. 21-24. The Warrior Pack was $9.99 and the two remaining packs will cost $4.99.
The Xbox One release of PUBG will also feature the new desert map that was featured during The Game Awards last week. Known as Miramar, the desert map will feature a number of new locations, as well as new weaponry like the Win 94. For a deeper look at the new desert map and its features, check out the official trailer below:
