RAID: World War II will release digitally for PC on Sept. 26, and both physically and digitally for Xbox One and PS4 on Oct. 10. This information comes from a press release by publisher Starbreeze Games.

RAID: World War II feels a lot like Payday and Payday 2, because it was created by the level designer for those games. Up to four players work together to not only fight off Nazi soldiers, but also to steal as much loot as possible from the Nazi regime. However, unlike the bank heist games, RAID includes a variety of character classes, complete with special abilities, customizable weapons and more.

Additionally, games can be modified through the use of Challenge Cards. These cards provide added bonuses, but come at a cost. For example, a bonus of increased ammo found in each level comes at the cost of enemies dealing out more damage than normal. Players can also modify missions by playing in Operations Mode, which chains together a number of modified missions, adding new content, storylines and objectives.

Each character in RAID is a prisoner of war, freed by the mysterious British intelligence officer “Mrs. White.” It’s basically the Suicide Squad of World War II. There will even be some added star power, as John Cleese has joined the cast to give life to the character Control, another British intelligence officer.

“The goal in RAID: World War II is simple – sabotage, assassinate and pulverize everything bearing a swastika – mess with Hitler and steal his treasures,” said Ilija Petrusic, the game director at developer Lion Game Lion, in the statement. “With the Nazi regime as the ultimate evil, RAID brings together four unique characters with playstyles that complement and enhance each other as they fight and steal across Europe.”

So what do you think? Are you excited to start killing Nazis and stealing their stuff in RAID: World War II? Are you going to hold of for Call of Duty: WWII to scratch your World War II shooter itch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
