Rainbow Six Siege’s Colorful tournament just concluded its sixth playday for loser bracket matches. The tournament has a prize pool of $1,500, which is a pretty high amount for the South Asia competitive scene. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all the matches will be held online instead of the more traditional LAN environment. The prize pool of the tournament will be split and awarded to the top two teams who will compete in the finals. You can find the prize pool details here.
The ongoing Colorful tournament is a double-elimination based competition, where teams will have to win every match or drop down to the loser bracket. You can watch live streams of every game on the Colorful Bangladesh Facebook page.
The sixth playday had a really exciting match between Union Gaming and LevelZero Esports. We even got to see the match go to all three maps. The match opened on Coastline, which is a very frag-heavy map. Each round was really exciting to watch, as we got to see two really strong teams frag each other out. That said, LevelZero was very unpredictable in this matchup, which allowed them to win the game with a 7-5 scoreline.
The second map was played on Clubhouse, which is an attacker-sided map when Maverick is banned. Teams need to coordinate really well if they want to win Clubhouse, as players can’t just frag their way through the map like Coastline. While both teams played really well, Union had the upper hand in terms of coordination, which allowed them to take the map with a 7-5 scoreline.
The final map of the best of three showdowns was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, which is a very defender-sided map. Both teams played the map with extremely different playstyles. Union plays Kafe revolving around their strategies while LevelZero plays Kafe around their fragging potential. The final map was super exciting to watch as we saw both teams go all the way to an overtime match point, only to see LevelZero winning it out with an 8-7 scoreline.
