Rainbow Six Siege’s The Esports Club League just concluded its fourth playday for division one matches. The tournament has a prize pool of $1,800, which is very high for the South Asia competitive scene. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all the matches will be held online instead of the more traditional LAN environment. The prize pool of the tournament will be split and awarded to the top five teams in every division. You can find the prize pool split here.
The ongoing The Esports Club League is a league-based competition, where every team has to face all their opponents from the same division. After all the matches are played out, every team will have earned points that are determined by the team's wins. The bottom three teams of every division then get demoted to the lower division, or even relegated if you are in division three, which is the lowest division in this league. You can watch live streams of every game on the TEC YouTube page.
The most exciting matchup for the fourth playday was between Kira Esports and MrcZ. The match was played on Clubhouse, which is a very strategy-heavy map when both Thatcher and Maverick are banned. The match went 7-4 in the favor of MrcZ. MrcZ was able to outsmart Kira by bringing in operators such as Kapkan and Alibi, which lured their opponents into traps and allowed MrcZ to win rounds due to time.
Another exciting match to watch was between v5 Esports and MonkaS. The match was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, which is a strategy-heavy map. The match surprised a lot of viewers as MonkaS is a more structured team, but, v5 was able to out-frag MonkaS with ease. This allowed v5 to take the map with a 7-3 scoreline.
