Going into tonight’s Backlash PPV, one of the major matches being advertised is Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt. After being busted open by a stray Brock Lesnar, Orton is setting up for a rematch against The Beast at a house show in Chicago on Sept. 24th. In the meantime, he is facing “The Eater of Souls” as Smackdown Live is producing their first PPV show since the WWE brand split.
However, it seems as if the Backlash show could be facing a possible problem as former WWE employee James McKenna is reporting that Randy Orton could miss tonight’s show for an undisclosed injury.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer also tweeted out something similar to McKenna’s tweet about Orton as well.
As of press time, the WWE are still promoting the Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton as part of tonight's card. Orton, who just returned from the injury list after a major shoulder injury, has missed significant time on numerous occasions due to shoulder and collarbone issues. Orton was also subjected to ten staples in his head after the Lesnar match at Summerslam after a straight elbow from Lesnar caught Orton’s forehead. Could his injury from last month be keeping him from Wyatt at Backlash?
