Rarest 'Overwatch' Skins: Can't Buy These In the Hero Gallery

Looking good in Overwatch is more important than playing well, at least to me. I’d rather have the fanciest Legendary skin on a hero I know next to nothing about than use the base skin for my main. Showing off to other players with fancy cosmetics you can’t get any more is what gets me to queue up in the morning and lose some Competitive Play games.

There are a few Overwatch skins that are more valuable than the rest. Some skins were only available for a limited time and will never be offered to the public again, so if you didn’t get them the first time around, then you are out of luck. Event skins, from the Summer Olympics, Christmas, Halloween and Lunar Revel, can’t be bought from the shop right now, but Blizzard has said they might re release them in future events down the road.

So what are the rarest Overwatch skins? Let’s break it down:

Noire Widowmaker- For pre-ordering Overwatch and proving to Blizzard that you are the loyalest of fanboys, you got a special skin for the purple sniper, Widowmaker. Noire Widowmaker can only be obtained from a code in the physical box, but if you didn’t have the foresight to realize that Blizzard shooter would take over your life, you can still buy the skin on Ebay for 30 bucks.

Oni Genji- For all those Genji mains out there who want to look more edgy than Reaper, there’s Oni Genji. Playing 25 games of Heroes Of The Storm with a friend anywhere between November 2016 and January 2017 earned you this edgelord skin. It’s unclear if players will ever get the chance to try the Nexus Challenge again and get the skin, so be happy if you managed to secure one of your very own.

Blizzcon Bastion- Right now, Blizzcon Bastion is the rarest skin in Overwatch and I’m not just saying that because I have it. It was only obtainable by buying the 2016 Blizzcon Virtual Ticket or attending the actual con. You can’t trade the skin so it has no monetary value, but boy is it sexy. Whenever I pop in one of my Gold ranked games and pick the booping robot, I get compliments like a girl wearing a Tiffany bracelet in middle school.
