Razer has introduced its new flagship Basilisk Ultimate wireless mouse that is aimed at professional gaming and FPS gamers. The Basilisk Ultimate boasts Razer’s latest sensor, optical switches, and comes with HyperSpeed wireless connectivity technology, promising ultra-low lag. Razer made the mouse a delight to the eyes by incorporating 14 RGB lighting zones, which can be programmed using Razer’s official software.
The Basilisk Ultimate is based on the Focus+ optical sensor that features 20,000 SPI precision, a maximum speed of 650 IPS, and 50G acceleration. An SoC is paired with the sensor that further brings multiple features including improved accuracy and cutting down response time. With Smart Tracking, the Basilisk Ultimate is capable of calibrating the sensor across different surfaces. The Motion Sync helps in reducing input lag by aligning the polling rate of the host PC, receiver, and sensor. Alongside all this, the Asymmetric Cut-Off works in a way to improve precision and lift-off distance.
Besides the host of these amazing features, Razer has also implemented its own HyperSpeed wireless technology that uses a 4GHz band and Adaptive Frequency Hopping, which further lowers input-lag. It might also be possible to reduce input lag using the software, but Razer hasn’t spoken about anything in that regard.
Speaking of ergonomics, the Basilisk Ultimate is a right-handed mouse featuring a scroll wheel and 11 programmable controls. Sensitivity can be adjusted on the fly using a special paddle on the left side of the mouse.
The Razer Basilisk Ultimate is available on the company’s official website for $169.99. Users can also find the mouse at online retailers like Amazon. The mouse itself comes for $149.99 if you exclude the dock. However, buying the dock separately will cost you $49.99.
