Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best single-player campaigns in video game history. But even that will not attract players who are exclusively interested in multiplayer games. Both GTA5 and RDR2 have a massive single-player focused campaign void of microtransactions. Those campaigns are paired with a multiplayer mode that puts MP-only games to shame. So, Rockstar cooked something for them.
GTA Online is seven years old and is still getting post-launch support. It's also set to receive the biggest update yet that will add a whole new island to the game. Red Dead Online, on the other hand, doesn’t have that much content. Fans of the Wild West have asked for more content for some time. Yet all they get is a couple of new bounty hunter missions and some cosmetics. You can learn more about the Red Dead Online latest update over here .
Thankfully, you don’t have to spend $60 or more to play the online mode of RDR2. Rockstar released Red Dead Online separately that you can buy for a measly $5. You won’t have access to the campaign, though, an upgrade path is available. The online-only mode will stay $5 till February 15, 2021, after that the price will skyrocket to $20. So, get it now while you can.
It appears Rockstar is giving heavy emphasis to the online component of their recent titles. A couple of months ago, GTA5 was available for free on Epic Games Store . They wanted new players to spend money on those pesky shark cards. PlayStation 5 owners will too get GTA Online for free. Who knows, maybe the cheap version of Red Dead Online will finally increase the dwindling player base.
