We haven’t seen so much as an official image, let alone a trailer, from Rick and Morty Season 3. But we may know what the best episode will be, thanks to chatty Rick and Morty crew members comparing moments on Twitter.
It began with storyboard artist Erica Hayes, who told Tumblr her favorite scene she worked on came from the Rick and Morty Season 3 premiere. The reaction was as Internet-y as you’d expect:
Tumblr: What's your favorite scene you've storyboarded?

Me: Favorite so far is in episode 1 of season 3. ;)

Rick and Morty writer Mike McMahan jumped into her replies to argue episode 5 is the best of the upcoming third season and Erica agreed.
@EricaHayes87 I dunno- 305 is pretty cool

@pleaseprint 305's my favorite overall, but in terms of a specific SCENE I boarded...you probably know the one I'm talking about.

As for what episode 5 is about, no one except the Rick and Morty artists and writers know. Since “Rixty Minutes” and “Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate” were both the eighth episode of their respective seasons, it seems unlikely that their favorite episode of Season 3 is the annual improvisational variety show episode. Episode 5 in Season 1 was “Meeseeks and Destroy” and “Get Schwifty,” both mid-season episodes low on continuity and largely self-contained.
If this mysterious Rick and Morty Season 3 best episode can top “Total Rickall,” my pick for best episode, then we’re in for a treat when Rick and Morty finally returns to Adult Swim this year.
Season 3 is the best.
