Rick and Morty have visited worlds full of slavering Zardoz monstrosities, purging villagers, degenerate tree worshippers and Freddy Krueger dream murders. Plus, how many worlds has Rick reduced to rubble? We witnessed him destroy Earth, turning its populace into monstrous Cronenbergs, but surely there have been others. Would the Boston Commonwealth of Fallout 4 prove challenging for them in the least, or would Rick and Morty be running the place in short order?
So far Rick and Morty hasn’t provided a clear answer, but the obvious overlap between the sci-fi wizardry of Rick and Morty and the retro-futurist tech madness of Fallout 4 has proven a fertile space for fans of both. There are all sorts of gonzo mods, reskins and wallpapers atom-smashing together Rick and Morty and the wastelands of Fallout.
People have recreated Rick and Morty in Fallout 4’s character creation:

This wallpaper combines the best workshop on TV with the best workshop in post-apocalyptic gaming:

And one unbearable mod has even inserted the screaming sun from Rick and Morty Season 2 episode 10, “The Wedding Squanchers”:
But our latest favorite is this video by Matthew Hamlin, who recreated some of Rick and Morty’s best moments inside of Fallout 4:
The Fallout 4 aesthetics are a surprisingly natural fit for Rick and Morty. Rick looks even more degenerate and Morty even more pathetic. Even the recreation of Two Brothers and the FakeDoors.com ad from “Rixty Minutes” looks great in the Commonwealth.
Now I’m hankering for Rick and Morty Season 3 to pull a “Make Love, Not Warcraft” and give us an episode set inside a video game.
