Looks like you won’t be able to avoid the Rio 2016 Olympics entirely. Thursday will see the premiere of the second Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer during NBC’s ongoing coverage of strangers running, jumping and swimming against each other.
For now all we have is a day, not a specific time, so that means you might inadvertently watch some sports.

So what will this new Rogue One trailer feature? With such a mainstream platform, expect this new trailer to be upfront about the premise of the movie, letting audiences that might not be as tapped into the Star Wars scene know that it’s a quasi-prequel to the original Star Wars.
Given an opportunity to show off Star Wars for a broad audience that may not have memorized all of Wookieepedia, expect the new Rogue One trailer to have a high quotient of exposition and familiar faces.
Yeah, that means Darth Vader. If ever there was a time for Disney to reveal Vader’s presence in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, this would be it. It seems likely we’ll be hearing some familiar respiration come Thursday.
Hopefully Lucasfilm/Disney will put out an exact time for Thursday’s trailer premiere soon. That way I can avoid seeing anyone that might make me feel guilty for sitting on the couch and playing No Man’s Sky all day and night.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be out in theaters on Dec. 16.
