Rumors already suggest the major U.S. carriers will begin offering the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Aug. 2, the same day it's set to be announced. New reports now indicate T-Mobile will offer a buy-one-get-one deal for the 2016 flagship. Tech informant Evan Blass tweeted about the deal Monday, but did not give any further details. There is no indication as to whether the deal will be buy-one-get-one free or buy-one-get-one half-off.
Carriers, including T-Mobile and AT&T, often offer buy-one-get-one deals for new flagships, particularly those from Samsung and Apple. T-Mobile offered a buy-one-get-one free deal for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge when they launched in April.
At this time the U.S. price for the Galaxy Note 7 is not confirmed; however, rumors suggest the device may sell for €849 overseas. Conversion rates would put the U.S. price of the Galaxy Note 7 at $935; however, prices typically do not translate quite so literally between countries. More over, the price of the Galaxy Note 7 may also vary between carriers in the U.S.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5, which released in August 2015, had a starting price of $699.99 off contract at T-Mobile. It is possible the carrier will price the Galaxy Note 7 similar to how it priced the Galaxy Note 5. Overall, consumers should expect the smartphone to be priced between $700 and $800 off contract.
The Galaxy Note 7 does have some features rumored, including a curved display and iris scanner, which could affect its price. But prices are one aspect of Samsung’s device release cycles that aren’t easily leaked to the public before launch, particularly U.S. prices. We likely won’t know the U.S. prices of the smartphone until carriers announce them.
Currently, the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be available in a 32GB internal storage base model. A recent rumor indicates there may also be a 64GB model of the smartphone for sale. T-Mobile’s 64GB Galaxy Note 5 sold for $779.99 at launch in 2015.
