Brazil’s Carnaval is one of the biggest celebrations in the world and like other events, has been affected by the ongoing pandemic. There is still a way to experience that with the new Carnaval Streetwear Kit coming to The Sims 4 on February 3. It's made possible through a partnership with the iconic Brazilian superstar entertainer-activist Pabllo Vittar.
For those not familiar with her, Vittar is a Brazilian drag queen and singer-songwriter. She's known for her music that offers electronic dance-pop having elements of traditional Brazilian sounds. Despite a rather young career, she has earned several accolades and awards, including being on the list of Next Generation Leaders by Time magazine.
This kit allows players to diversify the wardrobe of their Sims in the Create-A-Sim. Sims can dress in outfits that have cutouts, multicolored fruit patterns with graphic contrasts, sequined tops, bold makeup, and colorful accessories. Each piece in the kit has been inspired not only by the costumes of Brazil’s vibrant Carnaval and the street parties that take place but also by the larger-than-life personality of Pabllo.
In a post, Vittar described Carnaval as a celebration that can unite people. She added that it represents a lot of joy and a time when people forget some of their frustrations. She went on to say that during the festival people have to look extravagant and draw lots of attention. According to Vittar, this is all possible with the upcoming kit.
As for this collaboration, players can now enjoy listening to Vittar's dance hit single “Buzina” through The Sims 4 Carnaval radio station. There's also a Sims Delivery Express Base Game update with Brazilian food and a mask coming sometime in early February. Then in March, players can look forward to art by Brazilian artist Lano.
Talking about this upcoming kit, Senior Art Director Vincent Joly shared that the ongoing global pandemic has resulted in the Carnaval being canceled. He went on to say that they worked with Vittar to have different Create-A-Sims looks inspired by the colors, vibrancy, feelings, and emotions of this Brazilian festival.
What do you think? Excited about this new kit?
