If you enjoy virtually skating around on virtual boards made with virtual wood, then boy, your day is about to be brightened up. Developers Ratrod Studio have announced Skateboard Party 3 ft. Greg Lutzka, the next game in their popular skateboarding mobile franchise sponsored by Greg Lutzka, for iOS, Android and Windows phones.
Skateboard Party 3 will have a career mode with over 70 level objectives that players will need to complete to unlock items and maps, as well as a multiplayer mode for playing with friends and a general free skate mode. Players can choose between 16 different skaters and can deck them out with the gear of their choosing, featuring brands such as FKD Bearings, Osiris, Jammypack Darksta, Onnit and Nectar.
According to the press release Ratrod Studio sent out, players can practice learning about 40-odd tricks for those skaters, in locations such as Venice Beach, Chinatown, San Francisco, Moscow, a nature museum, a medieval plaza (which includes a “megaramp”), a drainage ditch and the OC Ramps Skatepark.
The game will be compatible with most game controllers and supports customized controls, so whether you ride goofy or not, you can tweak Skateboard Party 3 to your liking.
The game will be available soon (June 2nd at the latest), and will be priced at $1.99. Assuming Ratrod Studio keeps up with their previous strategy, a lite version should be available for download for players wanting to try the game out before they buy.
The Tony Hawk franchise's forays into mobile games seems to have petered out permanently (see below for an idea why), so Skateboard Party 3 is looking like your only option for some decent board shredding on your iPhone or Android.
