Skul: The Hero Slayer, the 2D rogue-lite platformer by Southpaw Games, received a major update a few hours ago. Patch 1.7.5 features numerous balancing tweaks, however, here, we will only cover changes made to Inscriptions. A total of nine Inscriptions are updated including Brawl, Execute, and Rapidity.

Manatech has undergone several changes as well. The required quantity per inscription effect is reduced from 2/4 to 1/3. The force of Manatech components bursting is decreased, and the amount of components generated per inscription effect is adjusted. With two effects, two Manatech components will be generated, while with four effects, five components will be generated. Additionally, the cooldown reduction upon obtaining Manatech components is halved from one second to 0.5 seconds.

Unlike other Inscriptions, Heirloom received only one change. Its duration of the mirage dispelling is reduced to 30 seconds from the previous 40. Tweaks to some of the other Inscriptions are mentioned below.

Brawl

Changes in inscription effects

  • Previously
    • Effect of 2: Attacking enemies causes a shockwave that deals damage to nearby enemies based on the higher of physical and magic damage (Cooldown: 5 seconds)
    • Effect of 4: Reduce cooldown of shockwave by 1 second per nearby enemy (maximum reduction of 4 seconds)
    • New effect
      • Effect of 2: Attacking enemies causes a shockwave that deals damage to nearby enemies based on the higher of physical and magic damage. A shockwave can occur 3 times per second on the same target.
      • Effect of 4: Every 5th shockwave is amplified

Execute

Changes in inscription effects

  • Previously
    • Effect of 2: Enemies with less than 30% HP receive a mark. (20% for adventurers and bosses) Damage to marked enemies is increased by 60%
    • Effect of 4: All attacks made against marked enemies turn into Critical hits
    • New effect
      • Effect of 2: Enemies with less than 60% HP receive a mark. Damage to marked enemies is increased by 15%
      • Effect of 4: If enemies with a mark have less than 30% HP, damage to the marked enemies is increased by 60% and all attacks turn into Critical hits

Relic

    • Effect of 2: Gain 10% of lost HP upon changing maps
    • Effect of 4: Upon gaining HP, damage based on the higher physical or magic attack is dealt. This effect can be applied once per second on the same target
    • New effect
      • Effect of 2: Additional 3 HP is gained upon obtaining a healing orb
      • Effect of 4: Unleash Wrath of God for 10 seconds upon gaining HP. Wrath of God deals 1% of fixed damage per 50 HP of an enemy. (Maximum of 10%) Wrath of God can occur once every 5 seconds on the same target

    • Effect of 2: Essence cooldown speed increases by 65%
    • Effect of 4: Successful Quintessence attacks increase damage by 40%
    • New effect
      • Effect of 1: Essence cooldown speed increases by 45%
      • Effect of 3: Upon using the quintessence, damage dealt on enemies amplifies by 25% (Cooldown: 20 seconds)
