For fans expecting to see Skull and Bones at Ubisoft's second Ubisoft Forward presentation today, the company has confirmed that the naval combat game will not be making an appearance. According to Ubisoft, the game will be undergoing some major changes in a rebooted development.
A recent blog post regarding Skull and Bones stated that the game has now reshaped its vision. The rebooted development of the game will feature a grand scope, requiring additional time for development. Even though the game will not be a part of the second Ubisoft Forward event, the company has promised that it will be shown in the near future.
Fans are already expecting big reveals and announcements at the second Ubisoft Forward. The first digital presentation revealed the anticipated Far Cry 6, so fans will be expecting to learn more about the game. Additionally, Ubisoft also promised a new IP coming out soon, a reveal of which seems likely today.
The second Ubisoft Forward digital event is expected to show off Immortals: Fenyx Rising, formerly called Gods & Monsters. From what we know about Immortal: Fenyx Rising, it is a open-world game influenced by Greek mythology. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the same team who gave us Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Fenyx Rising also looks graphically similar to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Interestingly, there have also been several rumors regarding a Prince of Persia remake. The Prince of Persia franchise hasn't seen a major entry in 10 years with the last major release being Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands in 2010.
The event should also give us updates on Ubisoft's major titles like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which got its release date rescheduled from November 17 to November 10. Watch Dogs: Legion should also make an appearance at the event.
Skull and Bones is currently in development.
