The third-person tactical sniper game Sniper Elite III will be coming soon on the Nintendo Switch In the form of Sniper Elite III Ultimate Edition, as announced by publisher Rebellion.
Sniper Elite III is the third installment in the stealth and sniping game series. This time, the game is set three years prior to the events of Sniper Elite V2. Players are again put in the shoes of Officer Karl Fairburne as he participates in a conflict that occurs during World War II. Set in North African environments, players will stumble upon a secret weapon made by the Nazi forces that could eradicate the Allied Forces.
Sniper Elite III still follows the same mechanics as its predecessors. Players are immersed in an environment filled with twisting canyons, lush oases, and ancient cities in the West African Desert. Players are dropped in all alone behind enemy lines, and they must rely on perfect stealth, intelligent planning, and flawless execution if they are to hunt down their targets. Whether its through setting traps, silent melee takedowns, or sniping heads from afar, you being all alone is both your greatest weapon and weakness.
Although it has been the weakest in terms of critical success out of the three Sniper Elite games, it still holds a Very Positive rating on Steam and its tried and tested gameplay mechanics, plus the X-ray kill cams, are still very enjoyable.
Sniper Elite III Ultimate Edition will, of course, include Nintendo Switch specific features such as gyroscope aiming for fine-tuning your shot, Pro Controller support, and exclusive multiplayer support. Local wireless play will allow up to four players to experience the co-op campaign.
Sniper Elite III Ultimate Edition is set to arrive on October 1 for the Nintendo Switch. The game will be made available digitally through the Nintendo eShop as well as in a boxed edition. The Ultimate Edition includes all of the content that has been released for Sniper Elite III, as well as four extra campaign levels. Digital pre-orders for Sniper Elite III Ultimate Edition will be open on September 17, and the game will retail for $39.99.
