It hasn’t been long since the critically acclaimed game Someday You'll Return was released. However, fans will surely love the significant improvements boasted by Someday You'll Return: Director's Cut. This extended version comes with hundreds of improvements and additions to content and gameplay.
Fans can now get the game for PC on Steam at $19.99 and for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at the PlayStation Store for $24.99. Those who already have a copy of the original game can get the enhanced version at no extra cost.
Released in 2021, Someday You'll Return has players follow Daniel. He is forced to return to the surreal forests of South Moravia and search for his lost young daughter Stela. At its core, the game deals with the concept of fatherhood, lies, and fear, and coming to terms with the past. The game offers various elements of fantasy and horror where it’s not clear what’s real and what isn’t.
For Someday You’ll Return: Director’s Cut, players need to use their wits, a map, and local tourist signs to explore a beautiful yet treacherous landscape. This world is full of old memories, abandoned camps, steep hills, gloomy swamps, and collapsed bunkers. However, it’s within these magical forests where hidden dangers await.
The game also offers players extensive crafting where they can edit, disassemble, and craft new artifacts from items collected along their travels to advance the story. There are the ancient arts of herbalism and alchemy as well, which enable players to craft mystical potions to help them solve difficult puzzles.
In a statement, Jan Kavan from CBE Software, who is also the game’s main creator, shared that this new version is a result of more than two years of intensive work that he and Lukáš Medek are proud of. He revealed that the original plan was to only port the game to consoles but with the Director’s Cut, there’s now new content and features along with gameplay adjustments.
