A portion of the Uncharted franchise will soon be playable on Microsoft Windows. After a year since the initial announcement, Sony finally revealed the PC release date of the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. The collection will bring the last two games in the series to the master race, whereas the rest seems left on the shelf.
Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection PC Port
The first three games were initially released on PS3 and later remastered for PS4 by Bluepoint Games. Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection only contained the single-player portion but was still considered the best way to experience the games.
Given that U4 and The Lost Legacy are coming to PC soon, you would think Sony will also bring NDC to the platform. However, you would be dead wrong. Selling the last chapter of a story seems quite off, and we agree.
Possible Reasons
Maybe Sony thinks the demand for NDC on PC isn't enough to justify spending resources on a port. Perhaps porting three PS3 games is not worth the trouble when you can port one modern game and charge $50 or $60.
Why They Are Wrong
If it's the former, then I think Sony is mistaken. Halo: Master Chief Collection was a massive success on PC, both financially and critically. Most of the games in MCC are much older than any Uncharted game, meaning there is a demand for older games.
MCC made me a new Halo fan as I played all six amazing games back to back. I would love to do the same with Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection.
Go ahead and check the comment section of any trailer of Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection or the discussion boards on Steam. They are filled with fans asking for a PC port of NDC. The success of Legacy of Thieves could convince Sony to bring the first three games. However, I will not hold my breath.
