Sony’s State of Play is returning for the first time in months this September 24, and we’ve got the rundown on everything – details, content, air time and everything else in between.

Following a knock-out show last May 9, in which Sony revealed some new titles coming to the PlayStation 4 and some updates on highly anticipated adventures, the publisher is back with a much bigger showing for this iteration of State of Play. For those of you who don’t know, Sony’s State of Play is their answer to the Nintendo Direct, a short, livestreamed event where Sony gets to feature various announcements on its games which will ultimately appear on the PlayStation platform. It’s expected that moving forward, Sony’s State of Play will hold a bigger significance on how Sony will market its games, especially since the company has decided to skip out on major gaming events like E3.

Recap

The May 9 episode of State of Play revealed some firsthand information about big releases, including the official release date of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. It’s not without new exclusives, too, as Illfonic revealed their first trailer for Predator: Hunting Grounds, an asymmetrical multiplayer title in the same vein as Friday the 13th – The Game (from the same developer) and Dead by Daylight. We also got to see a story trailer for the MediEvil remake, and of course, the real highlight: a teaser trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake.

What we can expect

This newest installment of State of Play looks to be its biggest one yet, as Sony revealed that the show will be coming in at around 20 minutes and with some fresh visuals. In terms of games, PS4 enthusiasts should stick around for new game reveals, brand-new content from PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios, and so much more.

Let’s also not forget this tweet from Naughty Dog.

Expect some big news and updates for The Last of Us Part 2. A proper release date, maybe?

What we shouldn’t expect

As always, Sony was quick to note of the fact that they will not be releasing any updates with regards to their next-gen plans for this State of Play. In other words: nothing about the PS5.

Where can you watch it
