Grand Theft Auto V was released way back in 2013. Since then, fans have been patiently waiting for the next GTA game. With the release of Red Dead Redemption II last year, the excitement over a possible GTA sequel went to new heights. However it appears that fans are going to have to wait longer.
There are still no updates as to what Rockstar plans to do with the GTA franchise. An alleged leak has claimed to have details on what Rockstar is planning on launching next. It appears that Rockstar may be going with Bully 2 as its next title with a possible release in 2020.
Bully is an action-adventure video game that is set in the fictional town of Bullworth. The game follows the story of a student and his efforts to climb up the ranks of the school system. Played from the third-person perspective, the game has an open world design which allows the player to explore around Bullworth freely.
This rumor is somewhat supported with Rockstar's latest regulatory filing which does not show a new GTA in its pipeline. For 2019, new games include NBA 2K20, WWE 2K20, The Outer Worlds, Borderlands 3, and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. Rockstar also revealed plans for a number of new titles, which could means that a new GTA release could still be far in the future.
Take-Two Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick said in an earnings call that its fiscal 2020 is off to a good start. He added that the company continues to have the strongest development pipeline in its history, which includes both sequels and new IP. This confirms, in a way, that a new GTA is indeed not coming soon.
Grand Theft Auto V is an action-adventure video game where players can choose to play from either a first-person or third-person perspective. The game also has an open world design and is set in the fictional area of San Andreas. In the game, players follow the story of three criminals and their efforts to commit heists. The game was released in 2013, five years after Grand Theft Auto IV.
