A special global make-up event will launch for all trainers in Pokémon GO this Sunday, July 23, from 2:00 p.m. (local time) to 5:00 p.m. (local time). The reason for the special event was the log-in issue experienced by those who used their Pokémon Trainer Club accounts during Community Day Classic: Squirtle held on July 9.
During this special event, Squirtle is going to appear more frequently in the wild, and a Squirtle-themed Field Research will be available, where trainers have a chance to encounter a Squirtle wearing sunglasses.
Featured Attack
Those able to evolve Wartortle (Squirtle's Evolution) during the event, or even up to two hours after, can obtain a Blastoise that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. Details of Hydro Cannon are:
- Trainer Battles: 80 power
- Gyms and raids: 90 power
Community Day Special Research Story
Players can get access to a Squirtle Community Day Classic–exclusive Special Research story for $1. Those who already bought a Squirtle Community Day Classic–exclusive Special Research story early this month can buy the ticket for a second, identical version of this Special Research story.
Event Bonuses
Of course, it won't be a Pokémon GO event without bonuses. For this special event, the bonuses are:
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period.
- Lure Modules activated during the event last for three hours.
- Incense activated during the event lasts for three hours. Does not include Daily Adventure Incense.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day Classic for a surprise.
Hatch Day
While waiting for the special makeup event, players can enjoy the game's first ever Hatch Day. It's similar to Community Days, Research Days, or Raid Days, where the event is focused on featured Pokémon and hatching eggs.
This event is on July 22 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., local time. It's going to have Riolu hatch more frequently from two-kilometer Eggs. In addition, there's also an increased chance of hatching a Shiny Riolu. Those who want to hatch as many Riolu as they want during the event period, they'll need to have Incubators ready.
Pokémon GO is available on Android and iOS.
