Nintendo’s latest installments for their monster-collecting and role-playing franchise, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, will soon be releasing on the Nintendo Switch. But as expected, it is not without your usual fanfare of freebies and limited exclusives for players to collect.
With the usual freebies coming in the form of bonuses upon purchase (such as the free Gigantamax Meowth for those who will purchase the double pack from Best Buy), Pokémon Global News on Facebook has announced that Walmart will be offering an Orange Trainer jumpsuit for those who will visit stores starting on November 11th and logging into the Pokémon Pass app on their mobile devices. The steps are as follows:
- Download Pokémon Pass for your mobile device.
- Log in with your Pokémon Trainer Club ID, or create an account.
- Scan an in-store QR Code to receive a unique code for your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
- Enter the code in-game to receive the Trainer outfit for your journey through the Galar region!
Players will have until November 25 to take advantage of this offer and receive their free Orange Trainer Jumpsuit.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are Nintendo’s latest role-playing games in the Pokémon franchise. The games are set in Galar, a narrow expanse of land and one of the many regions in the Pokémon world that has yet to be explored. Sticking to its tried and tested formula, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will follow the journey of the player character to become the strongest trainer in the Galar region. Once they have chosen from one of the three starter Pokémon (grass-type Grookey, fire-type Scorbunny, or water-type Sobble) from Professor Magnolia, they will then embark on their journey in beating the numerous Gym leaders scattered throughout Galar in the hopes of becoming the very best.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield is played from a third-person perspective and will introduce many firsts for the series, such as cooperative raids, an open-world area, and “Dynamax” and “Gigantamax” forms for Pokémon. Expectations from the franchise faithfuls are sky-high, but whether the game will meet those expectations is a question that will be answered once Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield launch on November 15.
