Star Wars Battlefront 2 Free DLC Will Include ‘The Last Jedi’ Story Content

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will release free DLC based off of the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi shortly after game’s release.

EA announced during E3 2017 the first round of Star Wars Battlefront 2 content will include characters and locations found in The Last Jedi. Fans will see characters Finn and Captain Phasma after in Star Wars Battlefront 2 after the movie’s release. The DLC will including additional maps, characters, vehicles, modes, weapons, star cards, and much more.

As a bonus, fans will be able to explore the planet Crait, where Luke Skywalker resides, which was revealed during the first The Last Jedi trailer. EA also confirmed the game will host live events and challenges, but the studio didn’t elaborate on what kinds of awards will be give to players.

“With Star Wars Battlefront 2 , we’ve really taken feedback from our players to heart, and you see that in the base game, which has so much more content than the first game – a new authentic single player campaign, epic multiplayer, starfighter battles, and solo or co-op PvE on console – a huge game across all eras of the Star Wars films,” said Matt Webster, executive producer on Star Wars Battlefront 2 , in a news release. “But just as important is how we support the game after launch. Our live service is built around the philosophy of keeping our fans playing together, with seasons that will add meaningful content and in game events on a regular basis.”

Again, EA coyly acknowledged the negative feedback and criticisms from Star Wars Battlefront player. The studio will allows players to experience the Assault on Theed demo at E3 2017, which shows off the updated multiplayer mode, Galactic Assault. According to a news release, players will get a feel for the new class system as well at the ground and air vehicles added to the game. Star Wars Battlefront 2 will also include the iconic heroes and villains, like Yoda, Han Solo, Rey and Kylo Ren, as playable characters.

Along with an updated multiplayer, EA teased some of the new characters in Star Wars Battlefront 2 story mode , including Inferno Squad Commander Iden Versio played by actress Janina Gavankar. The story mode will reportedly take place between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Little is known about Versio, but Gavankar was definitely hyped to share the news about her character during the EA press conference.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Nov. 17.
