On Sunday we posted about the imminent wrap of filming on Star Wars: Episode VIII, with Mark Hamill announcing on Twitter that principal photography would end on July 22. Filming began Feb. 15, which means director Rian Johnson has been behind the camera on Episode 8 for nearly six months, filming around the world.
On Twitter Johnson voiced his exhaustion as Episode 8 approaches:
Still, Johnson assured one follower the filming of Star Wars: Episode VIII has been “living the dream.”
The Dec. 14, 2017 release date for Star Wars: Episode VIII is 525 days away, so it’s not surprising we still know so little ( beyond rumors and leaks ) about the plot of Star Wars: Episode VIII. But with the impending wrap of Episode 8 filming and Rian Johnson’s planned appearance at Star Wars Celebration Europe, it’s natural to assume we’ll learn something new about the sequel to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
While a trailer or teaser is always possible, most likely is the unveiling of the movie’s subtitle, finally allowing Lucasfilm and Disney to drop the pesky Episode labeling they largely avoided with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
