It is no doubt that Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order has been one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2019. The game earned a lot of praise for seamlessly blending Star Wars and modern game mechanics and design to deliver an incredible adventure. Given the massive success, it shouldn't be a surprise that Respawn is considering a sequel for its Star Wars franchise. And it looks like the studio will not waste any time in doing so.
How do we know about this? Currently, Respawn has three job openings listed on its website, one each for a software engineer, artist, and level designer. And, all these job listings mention the Star Wars brand name.
While talking about the software engineer position, Respawn mentions that the candidate should be familiar with "third-person action-adventure games" in relation to Star Wars. However, we are not certain whether the software engineer will work on a sequel or not. Given Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's success, a sequel is a high possibility, but it's possible this new hire will work on DLC for Fallen Order or something completely different.
For the position of character artist, the developer states that it wants a candidate who has a strong understanding of human anatomy. This artist could work on the game's protagonist, Cal Kestis or a new human Jedi. However, it is also possible that the artist could work toward designing supporting characters for the game.
Nevertheless, we know that a new Star Wars game is in the works at EA's Motive Studio. However, we aren't sure what that game could end up to look like. Motive Studio's VP and General Manager, Patrick Klaus, calls this game a "very unique Star Wars experience," but that's the only official word on it we have.
