The newest expansion for Steel Division 2 is now available and it's all about the Tribute to the Liberation of Italy. There's a lot to expect like new features, units, battlegroups, and other goodies.
Those familiar with World War II know that the Italian campaign is an important yet unsung theater of war. Specifically, this was during the summer of 1944 located in the Italian peninsula, north of Rome. During this time, the advance of the Allies has been checked by the Axis defenders. The redeployment of different key Allied divisions to France sees a lull in fighting and has both sides planning their next moves.
For the Western Allies, it's all about fresh blood not only from reorganized formations but also news of Allied nations recently joining the cause. For the Axis, it's all about reinforcing their battered divisions.
Features of the new expansion include:
- Take command of eight new meticulously researched divisions and access to four fully voiced new nations:
- South Africa
- Brazil
- Repubblica Sociale Italiana
- Allied-aligned Kingdom of Italy
- Dominate the battlefield using four new Axis battlegroups that include:
- 5. Gebirgsjäger
- 4. Fallschirmjäger
- 26. Panzerdivision
- 4a Divisione Alpini “Monterosa”
- Lead a multinational Allied force of:
- 6th South African Armored Division
- Italian Corpo Italiano di Liberazione
- 8th Indian (Infantry) Division
- Task Force 45
- Access more than 300 new units, including infantry squads, with 22 brand-new vehicle models, 4 new plane models, and many new variants.
- Enjoy new infantry model sets across all nations that include many different types of Italian soldiers in both Axis and Allied divisions along with:
- South African
- Brazilian
- Indian
- Sikh
- Gurkhas
- German Gebirgsjäger
