The highly awaited S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl finally got the reveal it deserved. The sequel to the cult-classic franchise received a gameplay trailer just a few days ago at E3. The gameplay was shown during the Xbox event and it blew our mind.
Gameplay Reveal Trailer
The game takes place in Chernobyl (obviously) exposed to deadly radiation. You must be careful of “the Zone” which is filled with an ever-changing environment, mutants, and anomalies. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 did remind us a lot of the Metro franchise but that’s not a bad thing, given that Metro games are made by the developers of older S.T.A.L.K.E.R. titles. Platform and Release Date
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is both a next-gen title and an Xbox-exclusive, so the game will only be available on Xbox Series X|S. But it will also launch on PC on the same day. That’s not all though as the reveal announced that the title will launch on 28 April 2022.
This is one game Sony fans will surely miss. However, previous leaks have suggested that the game is only exclusive for three months. Though take the leak with a grain of salt until it’s official.
PC System Requirements
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise has always been a little heavy on the hardware and it appears the new title is no exception. On Steam, the game's page is live and it revealed the official PC requirements, which are quite high. The title will need 150 GB of free SSD, yep, you read that right. The developer recommends SSD likely because of higher speeds than HDD. So you better reserve some space on your SSD days before the game launches.
