Netflix has renewed Stranger Things for Season 2, with a release date expected in 2017, according to Variety. While the renewal is hardly surprising, Netflix has also revealed that the new episodes of Stranger Things are deeper into development than many have suspected. Plus, Stranger Things Season 2 will be longer than the first season, with nine episodes currently in the works.
Netflix also released a teaser trailer for the new season timed with the renewal announcement. While this first Stranger Things Season 2 trailer doesn’t have any new footage, it does overlay the nine new episode titles with your standard Stranger Things text treatment.
Here are the new episode titles for Stranger Things Season 2:
- Madmax
- The Boy Who Came Back to Life
- The Pumpkin Patch
- The Palace
- The Storm
- The Pollywog
- The Secret Cabin
- The Brain
- The Lost Brother
Already, your brain’s probably sparking with possible connections to the events of Stranger Things Season 1. The most plot evocative title may be “The Pollywog,” which pretty promises the return of the Demogorgon’s slug tadpoles. Could “The Lost Brother” be another member of Eleven’s twisted psychic-kid “family”?
We’ll find out when Stranger Things returns with Season 2 in 2017.
