Capcom showed off Ibuki’s reveal trailer with a major detail missing from the latest Street Fighter V DLC...the release date. However, after a few days Capcom has come out and explained the development process with Ibuki and that the character will be available in the last week of June.
On the Capcom Unity blog, this post titled Updates on Street Fighter V Development Vol. 1, it was posted how the Street Fighter V team will try to better communicate with the community in the future.
“The first thing we want to address is the release of our next DLC character, Ibuki. We had originally aimed to release her in the last week of May, but in order to provide the best experience possible for our players, we decided to postpone her. We are doing our best to release the content in the last week of June.”
Alex and Guile were given release dates when they were first revealed and the promise of a new character every month made Ibuki available in May. However, May came and went and there was no Ibuki for Street Fighter V players.
Along with Ibuki, Street Fighter V players should be receiving the Cinematic Story update that same week. Of course all of this can change but that is the tentative release date window.
Capcom also updated the community on the input lags and rage quitters that have plagued the community for a while now.
It was an interesting read and will likely not be the last blog post that pulls back the curtains on what the development team is up to.
So what do you think of the new release date window for Ibuki and the Cinematic Story Mode? Sound off in the comments section below.
