The Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 release date is getting closer by the day, assuming we aren’t forced to wait out any last minute launch delays, and Electronic Arts is preparing to a host a Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 multiplayer beta to ensure the game (and its servers) are ready for launch.
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare didn’t exactly take the multiplayer gaming scene by storm, despite launching to relatively good reviews and mostly positive word-of-mouth. So it might come as a bit of a shock that the game’s sequel is only about six weeks away from shambling onto store shelves. But an upcoming multiplayer beta for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 might be just the thing EA and PopCap Games need to expand awareness of the upcoming PvZ:GW sequel.
According to a new PvZ:GW2 trailer, published on Thursday morning, the upcoming Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 multiplayer beta will be available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will only run for four days, from Jan. 14 – 18, and there’s no word on why the PC crowd doesn’t get to take part in next week’s festivities. Sadly, the only other thing we know about the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 beta is the content allocation. Players will have access to four maps, two of which support up to 24 players, along with the Backyard Battleground mode new to Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.
