'Marvel Rivals' Is Giving Away a Free 'The Thing' Skin Later This Month, But There's a Catch

PSA to all "Marvel Rivals" fans out there, NetEase Games is now on the verge of releasing a free skin to redeem in-game for one of the most recent characters added to its roster, Ben Grimm/The Thing.

There is a specific requirement from NetEase Games to be able to redeem this new skin for the iconic character, with players given until next week to complete the condition.

Over the past months since "Marvel Rivals" release, the developers have not been shy in giving away freebies for players to enjoy apart from its many in-game offers, like rewards, missions, and accomplishments.

'Marvel Rivals' Is Giving Away a Free 'The Thing' Skin

Marvel Unlimited has announced its latest tie-up promotion with "Marvel Rivals," which leverages a free skin for players to redeem later this month that features Ben Grimm. The team over at Marvel is leveraging "The Unlimited Thing" skin as the freebie in this latest offer, with players required to be subscribers of Marvel Unlimited to receive the cosmetic.

There are various skins that NetEase Games has given The Thing since it was released, but this new one centers mostly on the original design of the character when it was released. The new skin will still feature the default shirtless version of the hero, but instead of the white and light blue shorts that he normally sports, The Unlimited Thing will feature the Fantastic Four emblem in red, and his shorts coming in the black and white colorway.

Moreover, this is also part of the new mini comic arc, which Marvel Comics has released entitled "Marvel Rivals Infinity Comic," that is an exclusive on Marvel Unlimited, featuring characters like Emma Frost, Wolverine, Psylocke, Ultron, and more.

Recently, "Marvel Rivals" was also featured by Marvel Unlimited with the same comic arc, but this leveraged a bonus for every purchase that offers the Unlimited Appetite Jeff the Land Shark spray.

Here's How to Secure Your Free 'The Thing' Skin

According to the team, players are required to secure a Marvel Unlimited subscription on or before April 16 at 11:59 p.m. ET to successfully receive a code to redeem and unlock "The Unlimited Thing" skin.

This is the only requirement from Marvel Unlimited to get the free "Marvel Rivals" skin, and the good thing is that it would not be limited to a set number of players only.

However, players would have to wait until April 25 for the Marvel Unlimited app to distribute the redeem code needed to secure the skin, and they will send these codes to the registered email address of the subscriber.

For those who are reluctant to pay for a subscription to secure the free skin, Marvel Unlimited offers a seven-day free trial that would make users eligible for the cosmetic.

However, for those who want a longer period, ComicBook Gaming reported that using the code "HERESTHETHING" offers a 1-month free subscription and the "THING50" code to get 50 percent off two months of Marvel Unlimited.
