Razer Pulls Out Blade Laptops, Accessories from the US Because of Trump's Tariffs

Razer is no longer selling its Blade laptops and accessories in the US.

To all Razer fans and supporters in America, you will no longer be able to purchase the Blade laptops and its accessories from its official website as the multinational tech company has pulled out its products from the United States.

The main reason behind it is none other than President Donald J. Trump's infamous tariffs for all imported goods in the country that significantly affects the industry.

Razer is the second laptop manufacturer to pull out its products from the US market from their official website. Framework, a San Francisco-based tech company that manufactures their devices in Taiwan, has also pulled out its products.

Razer Pulls Out Blade Laptops and Its Accessories in the US

The Verge first reported that Razer has now pulled out their Blade laptop series from their official website, signaling the halt in offering these products directly to US customers amidst the massive US economical changes.

As of writing, the Razer Blade's 14-inch, new 16-inch, and 18-inch laptop variants are no longer available to purchase from its official US storefront, with the company changing its status to "Out of Stock." Instead of users seeing a "purchase" button under the product's listing, users are now greeted with a "Notify Me" button, which is what the company uses as a front for devices that are not available.

The company has also pulled out the new 16-inch Blade laptop that was previously available to preorder from Razer's website, with the portable computer recently being unveiled by the company.

That being said, Razer has not made any official announcements or statements regarding the US-wide pullout of their products, as of writing.

However, there is good news amidst this pull-out, as its other accessories and peripherals like Razer's gaming mice, gaming keyboards, gaming headsets, and more are still available for direct purchase from their website.

The Trump Tariffs Effect: Companies Are Scrambling to Avoid It

Reports claimed that the main reason behind this massive pullout from Razer is Trump's tariffs against imported goods and those that rely on foreign components. It is known that Trump is scrutinizing the products sourced internationally with massive taxes for their import, with China being one of the countries with massive tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.

Instead of avoiding it, Razer has opted to pullout its products from direct US sale to avoid facing massive tariffs to pay for its availability, which could lead to charging its customers significantly more.

That being said, Razer is the second company to stop the sale of its products, following Framework who recently confirmed that its Framework Laptop 13 will no longer be available in the US because of the tariffs.

Additionally, there are many companies who have already mobilized their efforts to curb the tariffs like with Apple, who reportedly flew planes filled with iPhones to the US from their foreign manufacturing plants.
