Google’s new tool has made planning a vacation a lot simpler. With the “Destinations” tool, users can figure out where to go and even book from their phones. The search engine sources information from the most visited travel itineraries and visits by other travelers.
How does it work? Users simply type in the geographic region (say, a continent, country or state) followed by the word “destination” or “travel.”
“Destinations integrates a deep understanding of all the places in the world with Google Flights and Hotel search, so you can see available flight and hotel prices instantly . So instead of jumping between a dozen links or tabs to get the information you need, you can sit back and scroll—and leave the heavy lifting to us,” said Google in a blog post.
The tool has a “Flexible Dates” filter, which allows the results to show the user which months have the lowest rates. The “Explore” tab provides year-round weather information and also dishes information on the dates or times of year when a certain destination is most popular.
After everything is sorted out, the “Plan a trip” feature shows hotel and flight options, while also providing peaks and lulls in the next 6 months.
“As you slide left or right, the results instantly update with real-time fares and rates, pulling from the trillions of flight itineraries and hotels we price every day on Google Flights and Hotel search,” said Google. “You can also tap the pencil icon to customize results further with flight and hotel preferences, including number of stops, hotel class, and number of travelers.”
