The Mystery Science Theater 3000 Kickstarter has nearly raised enough money for nine new episodes of MST3K (six are guaranteed already). While the resurrected MST3K initially reeked of retread, some newly announced writer’s room additions should bring Mystery Science Theater 3000 back in style. Not only will the new MST3K have both Rick and Morty co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon as guest writers, but also, in a strange bit of magical cross-pollination, author of the Kingkiller Chronicle Pat Rothfuss.

Both Rick and Morty co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have been big boosters of the MST3K Kickstarter.
Rick and Morty Meets MST3K
The inclusion of the Rick and Morty and Kingkiller Chronicle writers probably has you even hungrier for Rick and Morty Season 3 and Kingkiller Chronicle Book 3.
The Rick and Morty co-creators and Kingkiller Chronicle writer will be joining lower-lumen luminaries like Rob Schrab (Monster House), Dana Gould (The Simpsons), and inexplicably-getting-a-Steven-Spielberg-movie-made-from-his-book writer Ernest Cline. In one of the weirdest additions to the incredible talent stoking the new Mystery Science Theater 3000, the new MST3K will have songs by Robert Lopez, who co-wrote “Let It Go” from Frozen.
The new guest writers will join Joel Hodgson and new cast members, including Jonah Ray, Felicia Day, Patton Oswalt, Baron Vaughn, and Hampton Yount.
