It’s a great day for fans of The Surge and its upcoming sequel, The Surge 2, as it now looks like that the title’s release date has been leaked on the Australian Microsoft Store.
‘Leak’ is probably the wrong word here, as the page is still up at the time of this writing. It lists The Surge 2 for a September 24 release date, and also allows for pre-orders now, with the pre-order bonuses also live as well. Check out some of the screenshots of the pages below to see what the final product has to offer, as well as the included pre-order bonuses for the title.
The page and the listing seem pretty legit, showing The Surge 2 as an Xbox One X Enhanced title to be made available on September 24. It’s going for £49.99, or about $60, which is of course the norm for a AAA title. The listing also includes some screenshots, as well as a trailer with a file location as a filename, which leads me to believe that the whole listing was someone at Focus Home Interactive getting a little too excited, so to speak. In any case, I’m still wondering how long this will still be up for, and how many people have tried to pre-order it.
As for the pre-order bonus included, it’s an item and cosmetic pack called the URBN Gear Pack. You can check out the separate page made for it here, which also includes the list of items included for it.
- Warren’s most iconic weapon from The Surge: the well-used Cutter
- The full-body URBN armor set
- The URBN Judgement Axe
- The URBN Skimmer Drone
- The Lootscan.exe Radar Module
- A unique online message icon.
The URBN cosmetic looks to be a retro-neon design from the 90s, which looks pretty cool. You also get Warren’s Cutter weapon from The Surge. Warren is, of course, the character you play as in The Surge, which is a notable difference to The Surge 2, seeing as this game has a character creator.
Whether or not the page will be gone in a few hours’ time or if Focus Home Interactive decides to just leave it be, at the very least we now have an idea of when The Surge 2 will drop. Expect to hear more from us soon as more news drops.
