The second expansion for Surviving the Aftermath is coming this November 3. In Shattered Hope, players are introduced to the Shattered Moon calamity, giving them the ability to increase resource production. It's going to be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, priced at $9.99.
In this expansion, during the apocalypse, the Moon was destroyed. The consequences of that event are showering down from the sky in an unforeseen disaster. Survivors need to find hope to move forward and prosper. To do that, they need to gather resources from moon rock deposits and come together as a people. The main focus of this upcoming expansion is to increase resource production while trying to make sure that the colonists don't lose hope.
In a statement, Surviving the Aftermath Game Director Lasse Liljedahl revealed that the expansion measures the persistence of human nature, especially during times of difficulty. The human mind has long been considered as a powerful thing and according to Lasse, this expansion shows that endurance of the mind can help survivors move forward past their physical limits.
Building Boost Mechanic
There's a lot to be excited about in this new expansion, and one of these is the new Building Boost mechanic. You see, when the Moon was shattered, its fragments fell down on Earth and left behind devastation. However, it also brought moon rock deposits. By refining these lunar fragments, you can get lunar dust to increase the production of buildings for a limited time. This new building boost mechanic is known as overtime.
Keep Hope High
In this expansion, hope is a new global value that has a tendency to decrease when catastrophes happen in the game. If hope is kept too low for too long, it triggers a new condition called anguish. When anguish is left untreated, it can turn colonists hostile. Be sure to keep hope as high as possible, and one way to do that is to hold feasts at the new colony square building.
New Production Chain
When colonists start to experience anguish, help them by building a trauma center where they have the chance to heal. There's also a new medicine called antistress to help colonists recover faster. To produce the medicine, you'll need to grow raw resources on the mushroom farm. After that, they need to be refined in the med hut building.
Do you have what it takes to persevere or will you perish?
