SYNDUALITY: Echo of Ada takes place in 2222. It's been years since a mysterious poisonous rain known as "The Tears of the New Moon" had wiped out most of humanity and resulted in the creation of deformed creatures which hunt the population. To survive the calamity, humans have built underground haven called Amasia, here they've discovered and started to collaborate with forms of artificial intelligence called Magus.
In the game, players get to take on the role of Drifters. These are people who make a living collecting AO crystals, which is a rare resource available on Earth. It's not going to be easy since they have to go against xenomorphic creatures known as Enders. However, they won't be alone since they have the Magus serving as partners providing support not only during exploration and scavenging but also combat. Each model type of this humanoid AI comes with a different personality with players being able to extensively customize its appearance. All Magus though operate by providing tailored feedback on the objective based on its analysis of previous sorties and player performance.
Gameplay and combat in SYNDUALITY: Echo of Ada focuses mainly on what's known as CRADLECOFFINS. This is an all-weather bipod that was developed for the harsh terrain of the surface. Each one offers different endurance level, load capacity, and operational time. Players can further customize these vehicles with body parts and weapons to suit each sortie. By the way, inside their CRADLECOFFIN and with their Magus partner, players have the option to go through the challenges solo or form fragile alliances with other players.
