Three new cards have been revealed from Hearthstone: Whispers of The Old Ones . On the Chinese Gold Series stream, Hogger Doom of Elwynn was unearthed, and an English version was shown on Kripp’s Twitter under the name Hogger, The Scourge of Elwynn. Blizzard’s Mike Donais, aka Mdonais, confirmed on Reddit that they shortened the name to Hogger because it fits on the card better. It’s a seven mana 6/6 neutral legendary that can summon a 2/2 Gnoll with taunt whenever it takes damage.. It’s a corrupted version of the original Hogger that summons a Gnoll at the end of your turn. This card could do great in control decks, but I doubt it's good enough to fill the void that Dr. Boom is going to leave us.

The next card was revealed at the Hearthstone Japan Championships. Giant Sand Worm is an eight mana epic 8/8 Hunter minion that reads: “If this minion attacks another minion and kills it, it can attack again.” With Stable master, this card can become invulnerable and clear an entire board. I doubt we will see much of it in actual play, the worm costs too much to be played in the same turn as anything else. If we get more control Hunter cards in this set, then this Dune inspired bug might stand a chance.

Stand Against Darkness was revealed on yesterday’s Hearthstone Winter Championship Twitch stream . It’s a five mana Paladin spell that summons five 1/1 Silver hand Recruits. Blizzard is trying to give players something to use when Paladin gets nerfed in the format change. Quartermaster and SAD can create five 3/3 minions, which is a powerful board. Muster for Battle is still the better card to use though, unless something crazy comes out this set.

More cards are expected to leak as the release date of April/early May comes closer. Expect a few more cards to be announced before the weekend is over.
