More Titanfall is coming according to the Respawn CEO EA

More Titanfall has been confirmed by developer Respawn Entertainment. This information comes from an interview posted on GameSpot.

While most of the conversation revolved around upcoming mobile game Titanfall: Assault, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella also talked about the future of the franchise. It sounds like the next Titanfall game is in the works, but it might not be a proper sequel or Titanfall 3.

“We're working on more Titanfall -- we're not announcing what that is yet, but there's a few other things in the works -- the mobile game, which turned out fantastic and is super fun, the fans love it and allowed us to expand on what we did in the last games,” Zampella told GameSpot .

That is one hard-to-decipher quote. Let’s try to unpack it. The most obvious thing is that Zampella confirms more Titanfall is getting worked on by Respawn. This is great news, seeing as we here at Player. One thought Titanfall 2 was superb.

However, Zampella’s quote drifts off into talking about Titanfall: Assault. Could this mean that whatever new Titanfall project he is talking about will be another mobile game? Perhaps a revival of the previously-dead Titanfall: Frontline? Or maybe it’s Titanfall prequel game, or some other project. The quote is a little vague, so it’s definitely up for interpretation.

While we don’t know exactly what this project is, we do know what it is not. Elsewhere in the interview, Zampella confirmed there will “probably not” be any more content made for Titanfall 2. “We want to work on new stuff,” he said.

Seeing as how Respawn is keeping this one close to the chest for now, it’ll likely be a while until we know more. We know the studio is working with EA on a new Star Wars game right now, with the studio announcing the project over a year ago. This means the Titanfall game is still in development, but could be making an appearance at E3, or another big gaming convention, next year.

So what do you think? Do you want to see Titanfall 3 from Respawn? Would you like to see a different kind of game set in the Titanfall universe? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
