Ubisoft gave a peek at games set to release this year, and there are actually three of them. That may appear to be a small number but the company had released quite a few games last year. Today, we’ll take a quick look at those three games.
Brings Back Freedom
Far Cry 6 was first announced during Ubisoft Forward back in July 2020. The game is set on the fictional Caribbean island of Yara that’s ruled by the dictator “El Presidente” Antón Castillo who’s raising his son to follow in his footsteps. Players take on the role of guerilla fighters to fight, unseat Castillo, and put an end to his regime.
The game features Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian, Better Call Saul) in the role of President Castillo. The game is scheduled to be released in mid-2021 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Versions for next-gen consoles are planned as well. Preorder for Far Cry 6 is already available.
Ride to Victory
Riders Republic was revealed during the Ubisoft Forward in September 2020 and boasted as a massive, multiplayer playground. Players can try out different activities like mountain biking, snowboarding, skiing, wingsuit flying, and rocket wingsuiting. The game has at least 50 players compete against each other for the PC version. Console versions are projected to initially support 20 players.
Riders Republic was originally scheduled to be launched on February 25 and got delayed to later this year. You can preorder the game here.
Roll for Glory
Roller Champions is a free-to-play sports game that offers fast-paced gameplay along with character customization. It’s played from the third-person perspective and has two teams of three compete against each other.
A closed beta for PS4 is scheduled to start on February 17. Read more about that here.
The Reboot You Want
Ubisoft had released a game last month titled Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game – Complete Edition. This game was first released in 2010 with the new edition offering new features and additional content. Learn more about that edition here.
