You might finally be able to get a good look at upcoming Ubisoft games. The publishing giant announced yesterday that they are hosting a digital conference titled Ubisoft Forward. The event will take place on July 12 and will be similar to E3. This year E3 was canceled due to the on-going COVID-19 outbreak and several companies, including Ubisoft, have planned their own ways to announce their E3 news through online videos.
The publisher didn’t reveal which games will be part of Ubisoft Forward, however it’s a safe bet that we will get more information about Gods and Monsters, Watch Dogs Legion, and Rainbow Six: Quarantine. We can probably expect an actual gameplay video of Assassin Creed Valhalla as well. I hope that some long announced games, like Beyond Good and Evil 2 and Skull and Bones, will also get more screen time.
“With physical gaming shows around the world postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ubisoft will be hosting its first digital conference, called Ubisoft Forward, on July 12 at 12 PM PDT/9 PM CEST,” the company said on their website. “Get ready for an E3-style showcase with plenty of exclusive game news, exciting reveals, and much more.”
Ubisoft's marketing campaign has taken a hit because of the ongoing pandemic. Like E3 2020, several other events were also canceled, including GDC 2020, Paris Game Show 2020, and Tokyo Game Show 2020. A few days back, organizers of the Tokyo event announced that they have already planned a replacement online event.
The COVID-19 effect on gaming hasn’t just stopped there. Several developers like Ubisoft, EA, and CD Projekt Red have adopted ‘work from home' policies to keep their employees safe. Check out the official CDC site and the World Health Organization website to learn more about the on-going COVID-19 outbreak.
